Etta James and the Peaches - The Wallflower (Roll With Me Henry) (normabates)
Tonight is cheap tacos
and expensive champagne. Next year will become insane almost immediately. Really it’s already insane, its insanity so profound it became asynchronous with the calendar and infected the end of the previous year. But tonight there will be a small, sturdy zone of calm, established on this foundation of cheap tacos and expensive champagne. Here I shall make my stand, till next week.
Don’t tell anyone, but the full unedited version of A Muppet Family Christmas is on YouTube. I had a recorded VHS copy of this as a child and my brother and I wore it out from watching it. It still mostly holds up and I think the only time the entire Muppet, Sesame Street, and Fraggle cast appear together.

For your downloading pleasure, here’s the fifth installment of our “Christmas in Brooklyn” holiday mixtape. This year’s tunes focus heavily on the soul sound of the sixties, jazz of the forties, and new jack stuff from the nineties and aughts for good measure.
Christmas in Brooklyn 5
(FYI, it’s optimized for iTunes, complete with album artwork.)
